Thoughtful renovation for GTA homes that deserve better than a rush job
GTA Build is a renovation studio based near Ajax, working across the Greater Toronto Area on kitchens, baths, basements and additions where the finish is the whole point.

Most renovation companies sell speed. We sell the opposite: the time it takes to get proportions, materials and sequencing right, so the result still looks considered a decade from now. GTA Build was built around the belief that a renovation is an architectural decision, not a demolition-and-replace transaction, and that belief shapes every kitchen, bathroom and basement we touch across the region.
Drawings before demolition
We sketch and measure before a single wall comes down, so surprises are caught on paper rather than mid-build, where they cost you time and money.
Materials chosen for this climate
Ontario's freeze-thaw winters and humid summers are unkind to the wrong finishes. We spec products that are built to hold up here, not just in a showroom.
Trades who've worked together before
Our electricians, plumbers and finishers aren't strangers assembled per job. Familiarity between trades shows up in the seams and the schedule alike.
A single point of contact
You speak with one lead throughout, not a rotating cast of subcontractors each answering for their own piece.

Why so many GTA renovations disappoint
Homeowners across the GTA tell us the same story: a renovation that looked fine at handover but started showing its seams within a year or two. Cabinet doors that no longer sit flush once the house settles through its first winter. Basement flooring that cups after a damp spring. Additions that never quite match the original roofline. These aren't bad luck; they're the predictable result of a build that prioritized the calendar over the craft, often on a housing stock that's older than the crew realized and demands more care than a standard spec allows.
Building for how the house will actually live
We treat every renovation as a conversation with the house it's happening inside of. That means accounting for a 1960s Ajax bungalow's settling patterns differently than a new-build in Whitby, and detailing basements to manage moisture rather than simply covering it up. The result is work that still looks and functions the way it should long after the crew has moved on, which is the only measure of a renovation that actually matters.

Common questions
What areas of the GTA does GTA Build serve?
We're based near Ajax and serve homeowners across the Greater Toronto Area, including Durham Region, Peel Region, York Region, Halton Region and the City of Toronto.
How do I get a quote?
Reach out by email with a short description of your space and goals. We'll ask a few clarifying questions and arrange an on-site assessment to prepare a detailed quote.
Do you handle permits for larger projects?
Yes. For additions, structural work and other permit-triggering projects, we manage the municipal permitting process as part of the overall scope.
How long does a typical renovation take?
It depends entirely on scope. A bathroom renovation moves on a different timeline than a home addition. We provide a realistic schedule as part of every quote, before any work begins.
Do you work in older homes as well as new builds?
Much of our work is in homes built decades ago, where settling, dated mechanicals and non-standard framing require more judgment than a new-build renovation. It's a large part of what we do well.
Can you match an addition to our existing home's style?
Matching roofline, siding profile and proportion is central to how we approach additions, so the new space reads as though it always belonged.
